New leniency system outside warranty period for QWIC dealers

QWIC set up a new leniency policy to cater to QWIC dealers when the legal 2 year warranty period of an e-bike expires. We do this by offering replacement parts for e-bikes older than two years, but not older than five years, at a discounted rate. 

This works as followed: 

  • The first and second year(0 – 24 months) QWIC reimburses 100% of the faulty item. 
  • The third year (25 – 36 months) QWIC reimburses 60% of the faulty item, meaning 60% discount on a replacement part. 
  • The fourth year (37 – 48 months) QWIC reimburses 40% of the faulty item, meaning 40% discount on a replacement part. 
  • The fifth year (49 – 60 months) QWIC reimburses 30% of the faulty item, meaning 30% discount on a replacement part. 

Batteries are also included within this discount policy. A defective battery is first tested by QWIC to determine whether it is unable to fulfil its purpose and needs a replacement. 

How to apply the discount 

In the case of a defective part, file a return. Just like with a regular return you can choose between a replacement item or a credit. If you choose for a replacement item and we see the bike is in its third, fourth or fifth year, we’ll grant you the discount that was agreed upon for a replacement part. If you choose for a credit, you’ll receive a credit invoice with the discounted amount settled in it. 

A few exceptions with 5 years of full warranty 

The Premium Q comes with a standard 5 year warranty (100%), we reimburse 100% of the replacement part within 60 months.
The battery of Premium Q and Atlas (BA00100, BA00105) and specific batteries from the Premium Series (BA00120, BA00121, BA00122) have a 5 yearwarranty (100%) without annual depreciation. 

E-bikes from the temporary 5 year warranty campaign 

E-bikes that have been submitted in the 5 year warranty campaign will retain 100% of warranty on the replacement parts within five years.
E-bikes that have been submitted in the 5 year warranty campaign will have warranty for a replacement battery for up to 5 years, considering an annual depreciation; 100% in the first 24 months, 60% in the 3rd year, 40% in the 4th and 30% of warranty in the 5th year.
