The Red Dot Design Award is an international design prize that has been awarded annually since 1955. With the Premium Q, QWIC won this globally recognized award in the Product Design category, the category for the most qualitative and innovative product designs. Within this category there were more than 6,500 entries this year.

Earlier this year, the Premium Q has already won two iF DESIGN AWARDS 2020, one award for the remarkable design and one for the unique fast charging station. The iF DESIGN AWARDS have been awarded since 1953 and are globally recognized in the design and innovation industry.

During the design of the Premium Q the focus was on maximizing the range. We have succeeded in creating a low step frame that seamlessly integrates our biggest battery ever. This frame is incredibly stiff which has contributed to outstanding stability on the road. The Design of the Premium Q is unique because of it’s cast frame. This production method is rarely used and innovative in that it allows a large portion of the frame to consist of one large aluminum piece. This creates a high frame stiffness for great comfort. The weld seams of the frame are almost invisible and all of the cables are hidden inside the bike.
It is not without merit that the Premium Q was awarded the iF Design Award 2020 and the Red Dot Design Award.
A fast-charger station was specifically designed for the Premium Q to charge the battery faster and smarter. The battery can charge to 100% in just 3 hours. The charging station also offers a hibernation mode, that keeps the battery level at the ideal charge state for long term storage. This extends the battery’s service life. With this battery QWIC has taken a big leap in energy-density, safety and the lifespan of its batteries. Charging is now incredibly user friendly with its simple functionality.
